Making a Quick and Simple "Cosmic Dust Analyzer" (CDA)

1:

-Create a cylinder, give it 24 sections (lon), and 2 sections (lan). -Give it a diameter of 0.23, and a length of 0.3, and place it in the center (x=0, y=-0.15, z=0).

2:

-Convert to mesh -Select the top face, and use the Inset function.

3:

-Extrude the face into the cylinder.

4:

-Select the bottom points of the cylinder, and scale them down a bit.

5:

-Move the points up a bit till it looks nice (deselct the x-axis and use only the y, otherwise it will slide around and won't look straight).

6:

-Select the face you extruded earlier.

7:

-Use the peak function and pull it inwards towards the bottom.

8:

-Create a new cylinder, and use the properties that are in the picture.

9:

-Move the new cylinder down into the CDA.

10:

-Create a cube (use the properties in the image), and move it into the CDA (level with the cylinder you just made),

11:

-Move the objects axis to the center inline with the main CDA's object axis.

12:

-Copy the cube, and rotate 120°.

-Copy again, and rotate another 120°.

13:

-Color it the way you think looks best (hint: you can select individual faces and color them separately from the main body).

-And your done!
